What is this website?
This website, as the design may vaguely convey, is reminiscent of western internet during the years of 2000 - 2015 – and will focus on Internet Horror during that specific time period.
What was internet horror like then?
The internet was still relatively new during this time, most websites were newly developed and many people posting ranged from young kids to teens. Even this early on, the horror was already popular, very popular during this time actually - with revolutionary horror movies coming out then , such as Final destination ( 2000 ) , American psycho ( 2000 ) , As above, So below ( 2014 ) , Creep ( 2014 ) , and Unfriended ( 2024 ).
This was also a time of year where ‘ Cringe culture ‘ did not exist, when kids were able to create without the worry of seeming weird – which resulted in some of the most iconic pieces of Internet history.
With these combined factors, of course user-made horror stories became so popular, and so many of the stories made during this time are still around today because, despite their quality, they are revolutionary for internet creativitiy and - having to mention - not all of the stories from these times were ''bad''. just a product of their time -- which was due to the fact that a majority were written by 14 year olds.
Though, there are a few goldmines -- which will be mentioned.
